Very cool what you are doing with your son. For ten years I worked in progressive preschool and one of my jobs was making recipe charts assisting pre readers to take a leadership role in cooking. Enjoy your Summer.
We do the same during big transitions and it’s SO helpful! I’d love to see the visual to-do list for your morning routine! That’s next to create for us, especially with kindergarten starting this fall for my older kiddo, too!
I find it interesting that when my son gets "cranky" I take no offense. I see his behavior as a need to grow, work it out or passion. A cry for help and understanding. I don't see things this way when my husband and I butt heads. I see him as difficult, unpleasant, picky. macho, and unattractive. I keep telling myself I need to see him as his mother might. A person who is wonderful most of the time but who is not infallible or a saint. Obviously we are all still learning and trying our best. Don't you think we have gained little ground some days from our hunter/gather selves?

Yes! The language before language is so important, honestly, for all of us. Thanks for doing the work you did!

The work was pure joy. Kids and animals don't stress me out. My husband? Let's just say, sometimes.
🤣 🤣 🤣 I mean, it's real.
To be fair, I cause my husband so much consternation sometimes, that we're evenly baked in the added stress department over here.

Great visuals for a four year old or any age for that matter!
It’s so true -- I do this for myself a lot!
Love this-stealing for my summer calendar! Drawing by hand changes the way I remember things.
